Drinks Trade Winners enjoyed time with UB40

Drinks Trade Winners enjoyed time with UB40

Saturday 5th April, UB40 featuring Ali Campbell and Astro play top hits from their extensive hits collection including memorable tracks like Rat in mi Kitchen, Cherry Oh Baby, Kingston Town, I Got You Babe and of course Red, Red Wine.

With a backstage experience awaiting them the winners were led down the corridor of legends displaying all the big bands that have played the O2 over the last few years, heightening the expectation of an exclusive experience including the band and their wine Red, Red Wine.

Being led into the quirky FAB Room behind the stage of the O2 added to the anticipation. Approaching it from the corridor of legends, recessed is a wardrobe front with no clue as to what lies behind. Open the wardrobe door and you are greeted by hidden room with luxurious comfortable sofas, cushioned walls, studded with colorful buttons, and a bar – what else. Tastefully merchandised for the evening with Red, Red Wine bottles, magnums and double magnums, laid out with spectacular decanters containing the beautiful Red, Red Wine vintage 2015, the FAB room is perfect pre-gig place to start the evening’s fun.

The London Wine Fair competition winners taken from the drinks trade, Loriane Pierre and Patty Savage from New Generation Wines and Aleksandr Minconek from Hilton Bankside joined Eminent Life relaxed and sipped at the Limited Edition UB40 featuring Ali & Astro Red, Red Wine 2015.

London Wine Fair Competition winner, Aleksandr Minconek said:

‘That’s was very pleasant experience which I enjoyed a lot !

My friend who came with me had the same opinion, even though he is not a big fan of wine. Now it will be easier convince him to drink/enjoy wine :) I don’t think I would change anything! So thank you very much for organizing it!’

Jerome Jacober founder and CEO of Eminent Life commented that:

“It is a privilege to be able to work with the quality of wines from the estates that we work with and this legendary band who have sold over 70million records around the world. The wine is great, the band is superb – it’s a great collaboration that goes well beyond the usual boundaries of wine.”

After UB40 featuring Ali and Astro wowed the audience with Ali Campbell’s silky smooth voice seducing 12,000 fans, Eminent Life’s trade guests were invited to the After-Show Party in the O2’s behind the stage bar. Including the band’s nearest and dearest it was the perfect way to finish off the evening.

 About Red, Red Wine

A limited production 10,000 bottle chateaux bottled Bordeaux Superior, made from Merlot and Cabernet Franc aged in oak barrels. Ali Campbell picked grapes in Bordeaux as a teenager and wanted to create a red wine ever since the band’s biggest hit Red, Red Wine made number 1. Wine Enthusiast said:

“Here’s a good blend: a rich wine with fine tannins and attractive fruits.“
