Don't miss C&C Wines' on-stand masterclasses

Making its very first appearance at the London Wine Fair, C&C Wines will showcase all of Nino Negri’s wines and will also be hosting a range of informative masterclasses, each lasting 45mins and presented by recently named Portfolio Ambassador Peter McCombie MW.

C&C Wines’ masterclass itinerary is the same across each of the three days and include:

Nebbiolo Masterclass – 11.30am
Nebbiolo and the impact of terroir focussing on Barolo with wines by Sordo, Alba with wines from Scarpa and Valtellina with wines from Nino Negri

Super Tuscan Masterclass – 13.00pm
A mini-vertical tasting covering two of Tuscany’s most acclaimed wines, Orma & Oreno, both produced by Tenuta Sette Ponti, “Sette Ponti has made serious wines for a while now, but over the last few years, proprietor Antonio Moretti and consulting oenologist Giuseppe Ca Viola have taken things to another level.” – Antonio Galloni.

Southern Italian Masterclass – 14.30pm
A considered look at two principal southern Italian wine areas and the new wave of CRU wines, featuring Gulfi (Sicily) and Felline (Puglia). “Simply put, Gulfi is one of the best - if not the best - producers of Nero d’Avola wines in Sicily as well as one of Italy’s top wine estates.” – Ian d’Agata.

Hentley Farm Masterclass – 16.00pm
A look at how vineyard selection and micro-climates have made Hentley Farm one of Barossa Valley’s most revered producers, “Hentley Farm has a singleminded focus on producing what is as close as you’re ever going find in Australia to a Grand Cru Burgundy or a First Growth Bordeaux.” – James Halliday.

Iconic Italian Producer, Nino Negri, chooses C&C Wines

C&C Wines, the joint-venture London based importer/distributor and partnership between Carson Wines Ltd. and C. Carnevale Ltd., is delighted to announce further strengthening of its Italian portfolio via an exclusive distribution agreement for Valtellina’s most iconic winery, Nino Negri.

Speaking on behalf of C&C Wines, Christopher Carson, “Despite working with numerous brands throughout my life Nino Negri holds a special place in my heart. Every facet of Nino Negri is meticulously managed and the wines themselves, truly unique. I cannot wait to present both existing and new customers these wines and genuinely look forward to a long and mutually beneficial partnership with Danilo and his team.”

Specialising in the production of Nebbiolo CRU and Sfursat wines, a rare wine which dries Nebbiolo grapes for several months prior to vinification – the same process used for Amarone – Nino Negri has been producing wines for 130 years. Based in Valtellina, one of Italy’s most challenging production areas where helicopters are used to gather handpicked grapes from almost vertical vineyard slopes, the winery was recently named by Decanter Magazine as only the fourth Italian producer to have produced a “Wine Legend”, joining the illustrious company of Gaja, Mastrobernardino and Sassicaia.

Danilo Drocco, Nino Negri’s new Director and former head of winemaking at Fontanafredda, commented, “We are delighted with this new collaboration between Nino Negri and C&C Wines. I strongly believe our iconic portfolio of wines will compliment C&C Wines’ portfolio extremely well and the passion that has been demonstrated from both sides of this new partnership has so far been extraordinary”.
