LIWF launches App and builds online presence with The Access Zone
The London International Wine Fair App will go live today (4th May 2012). Designed to allow visitors to create their own unique agenda for the LIWF, the App will enhance the experience of visiting before during and after the show. Users will be able to access a full event schedule of timed tastings, Industry Briefings and Masterclasses, exhibitor listings, floorplan maps and view personalised agendas including exhibitor meetings. The app will also incorporate social networking. The fully interactive App has been designed for use on iPhones, Blackberries and Android devices and is free to download. The App can be searched under 'LIWF 2012' and full download information can be accessed here.
Also new for 2012 is a search tool designed to spotlight producers without representation in the UK and other key import markets. Visitors (and other exhibitors) to the LIWF will be able to identify producers according to distribution channels sought, including on-trade and multiple retailer, those seeking agents and those looking to export outside the UK. The search tool will help importers and distributors to easily and quickly identify which exhibitors they need to be trading with in advance of the Fair and will be an invaluable tool to match buyer and seller together. Access this tool here. The Access Zone (stand K70) will return to the Fair with a packed schedule of seminars, discussions, interviews and tastings combining wine and social media. Hosted by the team at Vrazon, The Access Zone will be an opportunity to explore the potential of social networks to promote wine stories to a broader audience and find new ways to engage consumers of all levels. Sessions will include: an introduction to social media; understanding online "influence"; and developing wine apps. There will also be opportunities to talk to marketing groups with online communication programmes, such as The Grenache Symposium. The Access Zone will also be the venue for the announcement of the second annual Born Digital Wine Awards winners on Wednesday and a launch of the EWBC Digital Wine Communications Conference on Thursday.
